International Cultural Centre. Beginning

International Cultural Centre. Beginning

The International Cultural Centre is the fruit of the extraordinary atmosphere of the political breakthrough of 1989-1990 in Poland and Europe. The official inauguration of the ICC's activities took place on May 29, 1991 at Wawel, on the second day of the Symposium of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, which was held in Krakow at the turn of May and June. And although this day should be considered the beginning of the new institution, its history and the game for its shape had already started over a year earlier. Prof. Jacek Purchla presents the period of incubation and formation of an experimental institution in this historic time.
