From the end of the 18th century, the museum has occupied a central position in the city landscape. It is one of the key institutions of society. The theme of the meetings and the lectures as part of the City and Museum series is the museum and the relations it builds with the city.

The invited guests will talk about museum collections, curatorial strategies, management models, as well as about forming associations with the surroundings: the public, other cultural institutions, and the space of the city.

The following lectures have been held as part of the museum cycle:
  • City and Museum: Vilnius - Rasa Antanavičiūtė, co-founder of the Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Art, November 11, 2021
  • Porto and its museums - Paula Silva, director of the Department of Museums and Cultural Heritage at the Porto City Hall, October 20, 2015
  • Barcelona and its museum Joan Roca i Albert, director of the Museu d'Historia de Barcelona - MUHBA, January 11, 2013
