The Academy of Heritage Open Lectures

The Academy of Heritage Open Lectures

In October 2011 the Academy of Heritage saw the inauguration of a new series of meetings aimed at the general public. The Academy of Heritage Open Lectures hope to popularise the study course and its programme as well as to share the work and achievements of its Polish and international partners with the general public. The International Cultural Centre has been regularly cooperating with many experts in the field of cultural heritage, including outstanding conservators of monuments and managers of cultural institutions. Many a time, have they participated in educational programmes of the ICC aimed at a narrow circle of specialists.

The Academy of Heritage Open Lectures make it possible to share the work, findings and achievements of the before-mentioned experts with the general public. The open lectures of the Academy of Heritage are not delivered in regular intervals and independently of the course’s schedule. The issues addressed by the speakers focus on cultural heritage research, in particular heritage management and management of cultural institutions. Within the framework of the Academy of Heritage open lectures, the ICC introduces the Thesaurus Poloniae scholarship holders – the grant programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland run by the ICC since 2009. Foreign researchers from all over the world share the results and findings of their research on the cultural heritage of Poland and broadly conceived Central Europe with the assembled guests.
