The International Day for Monuments and Sites

On the 18th of April we celebrated the International Day for Monuments and Sites, which was established by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).The ICC for years has been participating in a number of activities aimed at protecting cultural heritage. Among other things, classes within the Academy of Heritage postgraduate studies are focused on this topic.

The celebration of the International Day for Monuments and Sites provides an opportunity to appreciate people who are involved in saving and taking care of the endangered monuments, as well as to discuss culture management. The National Institute of Cultural Heritage organises many meetings and debates, and an academic conference entitled “War and the protection of cultural heritage”.
