ICC workshops nominated for the Słoneczniki 2026 Awards

The Spring MINImeetings with Art, organised by the International Cultural Centre in Kraków, have been nominated for this year’s Słoneczniki 2026 Awards. The aim of the awards is to recognise the best educational initiatives for young children. This is yet another nomination for the ICC in this competition.

Once again, we are selecting the most developmental initiative for children aged 0–14. The workshops organised by the ICC, “MINImeetings with Art – Windy, Snowy, Wild or Flea? Colours that cannot be contained in a box of crayons”, have been shortlisted in the Słoneczniki 2026 competition in no fewer than three categories: “Language”, “Logic” and “Visual Arts”. Voting for the best events in each category is open until 1 September. The official announcement of the competition results and the presentation of the awards will take place during a gala ceremony in September or October.

About the nominated ICC workshops

The workshops organised at the ICC on International Colour Day – which also marked the first day of spring – provided an opportunity to experiment with colours, view them from a completely different perspective and seek inspiration in the spring landscape. We explored forgotten, unusual colours inspired by nature and spring – the sort that are hard to find in a typical set of crayons or paints. We played with colours and wondered what shades might lie behind their mysterious names, and what associations, emotions and images they evoke in our imagination. During the creative session, participants, with the help of the educators, created their own works inspired by the colours they’d learnt about. The session was led by ICC educators Marcin Krotla and Dominik Wrześniak.

We invite you to vote on the Słoneczniki 2026 poll page! (until 1 September)
