Students of Cultural Diplomacy at the Jagiellonian University visit the ICC

On 21 March, Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, Director of the ICC, led a session entitled “International Project Management in Culture” for students of the postgraduate programme in Cultural Diplomacy at the Jagiellonian University.

The session was accompanied by a short guided tour of our institution.

During their visit to the ICC, the Jagiellonian University Cultural Diplomacy students learnt, amongst other things, how to prepare an application for public funding for cultural activities, how to describe a project’s concept, and how to account for it. They also honed their practical skills in securing sponsors for their activities and learnt how to seek out various sources of funding for culture-related projects. Drawing on the experiences and examples of the ICC’s activities, Director Agata Wąsowska Pawlik introduced them to methods of implementing various types of cultural initiatives and the challenges involved.

The postgraduate programme in Cultural Diplomacy at the Jagiellonian University is the only one of its kind in Poland. It is run in collaboration with key diplomatic missions and cultural institutions, including the Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Commission Representation in Poland, the Robert Schuman Foundation and the International Cultural Centre in Kraków. Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik is one of the lecturers on this prestigious course.
