Vistula: A River Biography

In an era when rivers are increasingly being granted legal personhood, it is high time to tell history from their perspective. This is precisely the narrative approach adopted by Prof. Andrzej Chwalba in "Vistula: A River Biography", where the Vistula itself becomes the central protagonist of the story.

Prof. Andrzej Chwalba discussed the Vistula’s role in state-building, the natural resources it has provided for centuries, the disasters that have shaped its course, and the interconnections between political ambitions, economic history and military strategies in a conversation with Bartosz Sadulski.

The event was interpreted into Polish Sign Language (PJM).
