A peer-reviewed journal is published exclusively on the Internet which guarantees quick and efficient publishing procedures with a paper being published usually within a period of no longer than twelve months from the date of submission. RIHA Journal is a an ongoing publication – individual papers are sequentially numbered and there is no division into regularly published issues. Occasionally, as series of articles focusing on a common topic are published as Special Issues.
The RIHA Journal is an open access e-journal, devoted to the full range of the history of art and visual culture. The journal seeks to publish papers – be it on local, regional or transnational art histories – that are apt to animate the disciplines of art history and visual studies today and engage with important theoretical questions. As a collective endeavour, the RIHA Journal seeks to share materials and knowledge issued by scholars of all nationalities, and by doing so, to make a significant contribution to dissolving the boundaries between scholarly communities.
RIHA Journal is included in the following citation databases:
Arts & Humanities Citation Index
ERIH plus – The European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences
Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
The ICC kindly invites scholars and researchers to submit papers on art history and theory. Contributions are welcome all year. The Polish editorial board accepts the papers in Polish or in English (English texts have priority in editing). Papers in English could be submitted also by the academics from the countries without regional RIHA institute, especially Ukraine, Belorussia, Lithuania.
Authors should first submit an abstract of a paper (maximum length 2000 characters with spaces). If accepted, the authors are requested to send a full paper in accordance with the submission guidelines specified in information for authors (see below). The article is subsequently sent for external reviewing to two experts and, if positively reviewed, published in Polish and English. The International Cultural Centre provides necessary translation services for up to 5 articles per year (up to 40 000 characters).
