Among other things, the Minister toured the ground floor of the ICC building, where work is currently underway in the space that will in future house a bookshop, a café and an educational hall. She also viewed our institution’s lobby, which is currently being refurbished, and the façade, which is undergoing renovation. Marta Cienkowska spoke with the International Cultural Centre’s FEnIKS programme team and the management about plans for the coming months, the programme of events and upcoming exhibitions, as well as the planned opening of the modernised headquarters in the new year.
The modernisation of the Ravens House is much more than just the renovation of a historic building. The primary aim of the project is to create an open and welcoming space that will encourage people to meet, expand their knowledge and actively participate in cultural life. The modernisation will also cover the technical infrastructure of the ICC Gallery and conference rooms. Thanks to the FEnIKS programme, we will purchase modern multimedia equipment and implement solutions tailored to the needs of people with special needs. The building will feature, amongst other things, new lifts and induction loops, as well as clear signage to help visually impaired people find their way around. We will also introduce solutions to improve digital and communication accessibility, so that the widest possible audience can take full advantage of what we have to offer.
The project “Modernisation and adaptation of the ground floor of the Ravens House building and renovation of the technical infrastructure at the ICC headquarters in Kraków” is co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021–2027 (FEnIKS) programme.
