Visit by the Czech National Committee of ICOM to the ICC

22 maja muzealnicy i muzealniczki z Czeskiego Komitetu Narodowego ICOM odwiedzili Międzynarodowe Centrum Kultury w Krakowie. Spotkali się z Agatą Wąsowską-Pawlik, dyrektorką MCK oraz Marzeną Daszewską, dyrektorką ds. programowych.

The International Council of Museums (ICOM) works to promote the development of museology in its member countries and worldwide. Members of the organisation’s Czech branch visited the ICC and met with the management of our institution to discuss our latest projects, plans and current activities. Among the guests from the Czech Republic was also Dr Gina Renotière, a member of the ICC Programme Council, Chair of the Czech National Committee of ICOM, as well as Deputy Director of the Olomouc Museum of Art, Head of the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art – Central European Forum in Olomouc and curator.

The participants of the visit toured the ICC’s headquarters. We briefed them on the changes planned at our institution, relating to construction and conservation works as part of the project “Modernisation and adaptation of the ground floor of the Ravens House and renovation of the technical infrastructure of the International Cultural Centre in Krakow”, which we are implementing thanks to funding from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment Programme (FEnIKS) 2021–2027.

The visit by representatives of ICOM Czech Republic to the International Cultural Centre is part of a longer study trip, during which they will visit cultural institutions not only in Kraków but also in Gliwice. The meeting with them is in line with the mission we have pursued since our institution’s inception: to bring together experts from around the world to exchange experiences, create joint projects and develop academic and research activities.
