The Colour of the Anthropocene – workshops for adults on the occasion of International Colour Day

21 March 2026, 1.30 pm

How is our perception of colours changing? Does the Anthropocene have its own shade? What mark do the colours we create ourselves leave on the world around us? Join us for a workshop during which we will reflect on the nature of colours, map them and even prototype the colours of tomorrow. The meeting will be led by Olka Barczak.

On the occasion of International Colour Day, we invite you to a meeting that goes beyond aesthetic experiences. This time, we will look at the “colours of the Anthropocene”. Sounds scientific? Perhaps. And yet it is a story close to everyday life – about the colours we create, produce and disseminate ourselves, and about the lasting mark they leave on the world around us.

During the workshop we will immerse ourselves in reflection on the changing nature of colour. We will consider what colour meant to humans in the past, how it defines our present, and what form it may take in the coming decades. We will also draw on our senses and materiality to create prototypes of the “colours of tomorrow”. Reaching for unusual, surprising components, we will discuss, experiment and jointly create colour maps. We will try to give physical shape to our ideas.

The workshops are aimed at people who are curious about the world, open to experimentation and unconventional views of reality, attentive observers and seekers. We provide a space for unhurried reflection, creative work and building a community of experiences.
