With preschool children as well as primary and secondary school students in mind, the International Cultural Centre organises gallery lessons as part of the programme Exhibition with Class. These sessions combine guided visits to our current exhibitions with activities tailored to the needs of each group, while aligning with the current core curriculum. The scenario of each lesson is arranged in consultation with the teacher.
Preschool and school activities can be enriched in countless ways — yet simply stepping outside the classroom and encountering a new space is far from enough. At the International Cultural Centre, we believe in the value of engaging young audiences in conversation and involving them in shared activities. We are convinced that every visit to our current exhibition can become an engaging adventure, while also connecting with topics explored in everyday school lessons.
Our gallery lessons consist of two parts. We begin with an interactive guided tour of the exhibition, during which we explore selected themes and contexts together with the participants. In the second part, we offer creative and engaging activities agreed upon with the teacher, such as completing an educational trail or worksheets, working in groups, or taking part in art workshops. Throughout the lesson we encourage discussion, stimulate the imagination, and foster the development of participants’ artistic sensitivity.
Our lessons are aligned with the current core curriculum, taking into account its most recent updates, while also complementing and expanding the knowledge it encompasses. Each group is treated individually, and the content is adapted to the participants’ age as well as to the needs of the teacher.
