On 7 July, an international summer course began, aimed at staff from conservation services and cultural institutions, as well as non-governmental organisations involved in heritage conservation. Its aim was to facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices regarding the management and conservation of sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. To date, five editions have been held, focusing on the management of these sites in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
Last year’s edition was devoted entirely to one of Poland’s UNESCO-listed sites – Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. This year’s edition is also dedicated to one of the sites inscribed on the UNESCO List, this time from the Czech Republic – the town of Telč. The theme of the 2014 course was also the pilgrimage church of St John of Nepomuk in Zelená Hora, located in the village of Zdziar nad Sazawą.
