Culture Without Barriers Festival 2026

The Culture Without Barriers Festival will take place from 13 to 18 October, with the ICC once again playing an active role. This is a celebration of accessible culture, with a programme put together by cultural institutions from across Poland.

The Culture Without Barriers Festival responds to the diverse needs of the public and aims to increase accessibility in the cultural sphere. Its programme is aimed at people with and without disabilities, older and younger people, those with and without children, regular participants in cultural life, as well as those who rarely attend such events.

Now in its fourteenth year, the event is held under the slogan “You can do it this way. And you can do it that way too”, reflecting the fact that there is no single “correct” way to experience culture. You can watch, listen, read, communicate in PJM (Polish Sign Language), follow the visuals or follow the sound. Every way is valid, as long as it is your own. The festival is organised by experts specialising in event accessibility, people with disabilities, accessibility coordinators at cultural institutions and volunteers trained to assist audience members with special needs.

Most events during the festival are free or tickets are available at a special festival price. Bookings open on 1 October at 12.00.

Collaboration between the ICC and the Culture Without Barriers Festival

This is the third time the ICC has taken part in the Culture Without Barriers Festival. This time, we are organising the event together with the Drużyna Theatre. This theatre company was founded in 2022 on the initiative of the actress Gabriela Oberbek. Initially, the group operated as part of the ‘Theatre School’ project, set up by the ‘Nie Tylko’ Foundation for Assistance to People with Disabilities. Today it is an independent theatre company.

Organisers of the Culture Without Barriers Festival: the Capital City of Warsaw, the Culture Without Barriers Foundation, the Ochota Theatre, the Mazovia Institute of Culture and the Local Government of the Mazovian Voivodeship.
