Prof. Jacek Purchla elected as a chairperson of the UNESCO World Heritage Commit

The 40th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, suspended in July on the account of the military coup attempt in Turkey where it was held, is just being continued in Paris (October 24-26). In Istanbul, it was decided that the 41st session of the World Heritage Committee will be held in Krakow on July 2-12, 2017 with Prof. Jacek Purchla, a prominent expert on cultural heritage, the director of the International Cultural Centre in Krakow and the President of the Polish National Commission for UNESCO, elected as its chairperson.
