Guided tour with Prof. Bogdan Achimescu: “Romanian Actionism and Grupul Sigma”

During an expert guided tour of the exhibition, Professor Bogdan Achimescu will talk about Romanian Actionism and one of the most important moments in Romanian art of the 1960s and 1970s – the activities of the neo-avant-garde Grupul Sigma from Timișoara. Its representatives, including Ștefan Bertalan, Constantin Flondor, Ioan Gaita, Elisei Rusu, Doru Tulcan and mathematician Lucian Codreanu, combined art with science and technology.

Join us for guided tours of the exhibition “One eye laughs, the other cries. Art from Romania in the Collection of Ovidiu Şandor”. Critic and art historian Anna Batko will talk about folk inspirations in Romanian art, outsiders and the quiet rebellion of Romanian artists.

Join us for an author's guided tour of the exhibition featuring works from the Ovidiu Şandor collection, led by Jakub Kornhauser. The poet and co-founder of the Center for Avant-Garde Studies at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University will speak just about the avant-garde in Romanian art.
