The album

This is the first Polish catalogue ever to feature the artistic oeuvre of Tara (von Neudorf), one of the most interesting and, simultaneously, most censored contemporary Romanian artists. Tara’s art addresses the issues of identity, co-existence of cultures and open wounds. Old maps and boards from the times of the Communist rule of Nicolae Ceaușescu are used by Tara to provide the base for his works. Consequently, by means of paints and marker pens he transforms them into often shocking and sarcastic works. The catalogue features over eighty pieces: paintings, sculptures and some fashion designs as well as a number of atmospheric black and white photographs of Transylvania – the place Tara comes from and works.

A highly original design of the catalogue unmistakably alludes to the oeuvre of Tara (von Neudorf).
