Andy Warhol vs. Andy Warhol

The exhibition is to be accompanied by a series of meetings titled Andy Warhol vs. Andy Warhol. The artist’s life and works have been characterised by contrasts and contradictions. In his works, sacrum is intermingled with profanum; the icons of popular culture meet the icons of Renaissance painting; the artist himself, a celebrity figure, is confronted with a shy introvert. Using the before-mentioned contradictions for the basis of our programme, we have decided to organise a series of meetings with specialists from different areas. Every meeting is about to explore a different aspect of both art and personality of Andy Warhol.
