A bookshop “inside” the ICC

We invite book lovers to visit the ‘centre’ of the ICC and spend some time with our publications. From 12 February, a temporary Central European bookshop and reading room will be open at 25 Main Square! You can read, buy books and albums published by the ICC, but also relax and work.

We invite everyone to the temporary Central European bookshop and reading room ‘inside’, on the first floor of the MCK, in the gallery section. It is a space open to the public, a place for those who miss our gallery and all those who are looking for a cosy but creative place to work, create or simply relax.

What awaits you “inside”

Between 11.00 and 18.00, in the "inside" bookshop and reading room, you can browse through a carefully selected range of publications from the MCK Publishing House and other publishers, buy our books and the ‘Herito’ magazine, but also sit, work, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city – all this with a beautiful view of Krakow's Main Square. In addition to our own publications—dedicated to heritage, the history of ideas, architecture, culture and the region’s identity—we also offer books from publishers such as Czarne, Karakter, and Sedno.
 

We have opened a space familiar to our visitors, but we are presenting it in a completely new light.

Book Club, events and new opening  

The temporary MCK bookshop is also a place where we will invite our audience to events organised while our institution is undergoing renovation. Among other things, it will host meetings of the Central European Book Club, as well as other events, which we will announce on the MCK website and on our social media.

The bookshop ‘inside’ is a preview and a preview of what awaits us soon thanks to the FEnIKS programme – a new MCK bookshop and café on the ground floor of the building, open to the Market Square, as well as new educational rooms and refreshed spaces in our institution, where we will be implementing a completely new programme.    

The International Cultural Centre in Krakow has received a grant under the FEnIKS programme – European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021–2027. The funds will be used for the comprehensive modernisation of the ICC headquarters at 25 Main Square. The main objective of the project is to create a new space for culture and social activities, which will be located on the entire ground floor of the ICC and will serve as a kind of invitation to the institution and its showcase.
