Walk with us: “The Galician Ring of Kraków”

Discover the city at the turn of the century with us! Join us on a walk that will introduce you to the most important buildings, streets, institutions and people associated with the Galician era in Kraków. We’ll also take a look at the everyday life of Kraków’s residents of yesteryear, follow in the footsteps of the artistic bohemian scene of that period, and find out exactly what the Galician Ring of Kraków was.

At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Kraków was a city undergoing dynamic change – imposing buildings were being erected, scientific and cultural institutions were flourishing, and the urban landscape was becoming increasingly modern. Traces of this era can be found in many parts of the Old Town – from the headquarters of universities and scientific societies, through theatres and art palaces, to the meeting places of Kraków’s bohemian scene.

Join us on a walk along the “Galician Ring of Kraków”, during which we’ll discover the most important sites associated with the Galician era and learn the stories of the people who shaped the city’s character. The route takes in stately buildings, historic streets and places linked to science, culture and the everyday life of Kraków’s residents of yesteryear. This is an event for both those visiting Kraków for the first time and locals wishing to see familiar places from a new perspective.
