UNESCO Deputy Director in the ICC

Éric Falt – Assistant Director-General at UNESCO – paid a visit to the International Cultural Centre on the occasion of the Meeting of the European Network of National Committees for UNESCO hosted at the ICC.

The event organised by the International Cultural Centre and the Polish National Committee for UNESCO brought together 60 participants from 30 countries that represent the national committees for UNESCO from the EU member states and candidate countries, the EFTA states, as well as other European countries connected with the EU through treaties on cooperation. Its goal was to exchange experiences and reinforce cooperation of national committees in implementing UNESCO programmes in Europe.

The ICC has for over twenty years worked for the support of intercultural dialogue, therefore is mission and the philosophy behind UNESCO are linked by an obvious synergy. They are also connected through Professor Jacek Purchla, who has been running the ICC for 25 years and works since June 2015 as the President of the Polish National Committee for UNESCO.
