Jewish architects in interwar Krakow
Lecture by Barbara Zbroja

We kindly invite for the next lecture accompanying the exhibition Hunting down Modernism. Prohibited Arts in the Third Reich.

Around eighty Jewish architects and professional builders worked in Krakow in the inter-war period – making up one-third of all the individuals employed in the business. They were praised for the quality of their work and were highly popular among employers. Krakow owes a number of very interesting apartment buildings to them. A lecture by Barbara Zbroja will introduce some of the best-known Jewish architects and builders of the period as well as their designs – the latter often classified as the most outstanding achievements in Krakow architecture of the inter-war period.
