“They are ripe for art. The art of seeing - seeing contemporary Ukraine

We invite you to the next meeting as part of the "Mature for Art" series. The lecture, which will take place on December 10, will be devoted to the exhibition "Ukraine. A different angle on neighbourhood".

The current exhibition in the Gallery of the International Cultural Centre is devoted to the notions as well as cultural and historical narratives about Ukrainianness created throughout history in Poland and Ukraine. Contemporary Ukrainian art occupies a separate place among these narratives, sensitive both to history and current social and political events in the country, and filtering this experience through the prism of pan-European or global perspectives. It is the work of young Ukrainian artists that allows us to better understand what contemporary Ukraine is like.
The lecture will introduce the activities of selected figures of the local art scene, such as: Nikita Kadan, Alewtyna Kachidze, Vladyslav Krasnoshchok, Bella Logachova and Roman Minin.

The lecture "The art of seeing - seeing contemporary Ukraine" will be held on December 10, 2021 at 11.00 and will be conducted online via the Zoom platform. In order to receive a virtual invitation, please send your application to the following address: warsztaty@mck.krakow.pl.
