The V4 Heritage Academy summer school starts on July 8. Management of the UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites in Visegrad Countries. This is a unique event that united participants from four Visegrad Group countries - Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. During 7 days, participants will have the opportunity to visit historical sites and take part in discussions, meetings and workshops devoted to cultural heritage.

This year's edition of the summer school takes place in two Polish cities: Krakow and Zabrze. On the first day, during the inauguration, Eng. arch. Věra Kučová, head of the Center for Monuments of International Status Národní Památkový Ustav, will give a lecture on the industrial heritage in the Czech Republic, and Dr. Łukasz Galusek, program director of the International Cultural Center, will present the topic of Upper Silesia and the adventures of modernity.

In Krakow, participants will have the opportunity to see the historical center of the city and the Museum of Engineering and Technology. It was not only an immersion in the rich history of Krakow, but also learning about its technological heritage, which is of key importance for the development of the region.

After visiting Krakow, participants will go to Silesia. The plan includes visits to Katowice and Nikoszowiec, Tarnowskie Góry and the silver mine, and above all, Zabrze, where the Coal Mining Museum is located. The second part of the classes will take place in Zabrze, consisting of workshops and discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with managing UNESCO-listed sites, as well as exchange experiences and ideas.

The V4 Heritage Academy summer school is not only education, but also an opportunity to build international relations and cooperation between the Visegrad Group countries.
