We invite you to a film series as part of the events accompanying the Brâncuși. Sculpting with Light exhibition, organised in cooperation with the Pod Baranami Cinema.

Sensuality and creative passion are the leitmotifs of the film screenings organised in cooperation with the Pod Baranami Cinema as part of the “Sensual Cinema” series. In the films presented, we will take a look at a journey through different worlds – both real and imagined. From perfectionism driving one mad to complex family relationships. Love for art and madness, pushing boundaries and asking the question: is what we see what it really is? We will look at themes that also appear in the exhibition at the MCK. We will look for points of intersection and our own interpretations of photographic and film art.

22 November, 17.00

“The Square” (2017) dir. Ruben Östlund

Christian (Claes Bang) has everything under control. He is an attractive man with great personal charm. Recently divorced, he likes to engage in casual affairs, and a young American journalist (Elisabeth Moss) may turn out to be his new trophy. Christian is the director of a prestigious modern art museum, which gives him power and an ideal social position. He also takes exemplary care of his daughters, drives a Tesla that costs a fortune, and helps those in need – especially if it does not require too much effort on his part. However, during preparations for the premiere of “The Square”, an installation in which he has high hopes, maintaining his carefully cultivated image proves to be quite a challenge for him.

Kino Pod Baranami is the operator of film screenings at the MCK.

Susan, who makes incredible progress under the guidance of the school's eccentric artistic director, Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton), quickly befriends another dancer, Sara (Mia Goth). When several chilling incidents occur at the school, the two girls begin to suspect the true nature of the academy. Soon, Susie will learn its greatest, darkest secret.

The renovation of the ICC headquarters, including the Ravens Hall, will make our institution even more welcoming, modern and accessible to a wide audience thanks to the project "Modernisation and adaptation of the ground floor of the Ravens House and renovation of the technical infrastructure of the International Cultural Centre in Krakow" project, worth PLN 13,541,096.08. This project received PLN 8,744,388.51 in funding from the European Union's European Funds under the FEnIKS programme.

FEnIKS will not only enable the renovation of the Ravens Hall, foyer and lift lobby. The reconstruction of the ground floor of the tenement house will provide us with new spaces for cultural activities – the organisation of workshops, meetings, classes and film screenings. The ICC will be enriched with a bookshop, a café and new educational rooms.
