The International Visegrad Prize presented

Bogdan Zdrojewski, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, has presented  the Intarnational Visegrad Prize 2011 to Pavel Popelca, Director of the Jan Ámos Komenský Museum in Uherský Brod. The presentation took place during the closing ceremony of the 2nd Heritage Forum of Central Europe, organized by the International Cultural Centre, the first Polish cultural institution to receive this prestigious award.  The diploma was signed by the ministers of the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and Hungary.

The Museum in Uherský Brod, opened in 1898, aims at collecting extensive materials on the writings, work and life of Komenský. considering the geographic location of Uherský Brod and Komenský’s biography, it is quite natural that the Museum maintains and develops international contacts and cooperation, especially with the V4 countries. Komenský spent a significant part of his life both in Poland and Hungary.
