The ICC in Kraków on a study visit to Prague. Exchange of experiences as part of the FEnIKS

From 7 to 9 July 2026, five staff members from the International Cultural Centre in Kraków took part in a study visit to Prague, organised as part of the FEnIKS project. The trip provided an opportunity to learn about the approaches adopted by Czech cultural institutions in the areas of management, making collections accessible, communication with the public, education and museum accessibility.

The programme included meetings with representatives of six major museum and exhibition institutions in the Czech capital. Staff from the ICC visited the Museum of Literature, the National Technical Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Prague City Gallery, the National Gallery in Prague and the National Museum. During the visits, discussions centred on the operational models of the institutions, ways of developing programmes for different audience groups, accessibility, as well as promotional and educational activities. Particular attention was paid to issues relating to the modernisation of infrastructure and the creation of more inclusive and visitor-friendly spaces.

The trip forms part of the activities carried out by the ICC as part of the FEnIKS project, which aims to refurbish and modernise the institution’s headquarters. Study visits enable the team to familiarise themselves with best practices developed by European cultural institutions and to apply them when devising new solutions for the ICC’s modernised headquarters.

The FEnIKS project involves not only modernising the infrastructure, but also enhancing staff skills and developing a programme that meets the contemporary needs of the public. The experience gained during the visit to Prague will be utilised in further work on creating a modern, accessible and open space at the International Cultural Centre.
