The ICC board at the meeting for the Visegrad countries’ cooperation

The Slovakian National Gallery held a meeting discussing the cooperation of cultural institutions of the Visegrad Group countries. Attendants were the ICC director, Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, and deputy director for programme policy – Łukasz Galusek.

 

Since 2016, the International Culture Centre has been responsible for the work coordination of the Experts Work Group on the Cultural Heritage of the Visegrad Group countries. This group includes representatives of the Czech Republic Ministry of Culture, the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office, and the Slovakian Council on Monuments and Sites.

 

The ICC initiated eg. drafting the expert report from the whole region regarding the management and protection of the cultural heritage. Since 2009, each year, together with the Visegrad Group members, the ICC has run the V4 Heritage Academy Summer School, and since 2011, the Heritage Forum of Central Europe, gathering in Krakow the most prominent experts and researchers of the cultural heritage in the region.

 

The meeting took place at the Slovakian National Gallery, an institution founded in 1948. It is placed in the Esterházy Palace. The palace was extended in the 70s to include the modernistic style hall; it was one of the first modernistic projects in Slovakia.
