„The Architecture of Independence in Central Europe” exhibition in Chisinau

The exhibition, prepared by the ICC at the turn of 2018 and 2019, was showcased by the National Museum of History of Moldova in Chisinau. It was on display from February 1 to February 28, 2023. The project was organised in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Bucharest.

The exhibition told the story of the transformation of Central Europe after 1918. New countries appeared on the map, and a new order was introduced – political, social, economic and cultural. War damage, shifting borders, and the clash with new political realities left their mark on the development of culture and the shape of architecture in this part of the continent in the following decades.

The exhibition was addressed to art viewers of all ages, to enthusiasts and researchers of architectural history, as well as to those interested in cultural and social changes in the early 20th century.
