On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the birth and 20th anniversary of the death of Zbylut Grzywacz, the Association of Friends of the Artist's Work invites you to a unique exhibition that will be held at the International Cultural Center in Krakow.

The opening took place on November 5, 2024. The exhibition will last until November 30 (except Mondays) and will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with free entry for visitors.

The curator of the exhibition is Joanna Boniecka, and the arrangement was prepared by prof. Adam Brincken. Graphic design of the catalog and accompanying prints: Marek Pawłowski

The exhibition presents approximately 70 works by Zbylut Grzywacz from 1965-2004, mainly from his studio. It will include works from such series as "March '68", "Man Without Quality", "Dolls", "Oxen", "Spring '82" and "Come Away". This is another opportunity to recall the work of one of the most committed Polish artists of the second half of the 20th century, who boldly touched upon topics related to the political and social reality of Poland in his art.

Following the monumental first posthumous retrospective at the National Museum in Krakow fifteen years ago, the exhibition presented at the ICC will revive the memory of Zbylut Grzywacz by presenting his masterful works, whose communicative power and artistic originality have not waned despite the passage of time. New generations of viewers, although unfamiliar with the world in which these works were created, succumb to their power. And successive generations of young art students, students of art colleges are taking lessons from a charismatic teacher and populariser of art and science.

On Saturday, November 23 at At 12.00, the International Cultural Center will also host a discussion panel devoted to the relevance of Zbylut Grzywacz's work. The meeting will be attended by the artist's friends and researchers of his work.

The exhibition was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Hanna Wróblewska.
