Recruitment for the V4 Heritage Academy summer school

We encourage you to apply to the 12 edition of V4 Heritage Academy, which takes place between 10 and 15 July in Budapest. It is a week-long educational program for conservators, employees of cultural institutions, and non-governmental organisations, as well as students interested in heritage protection, from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.

 

The theme of this year’s edition is the reconstruction  of monuments and sites – the re-establishment of structures of outstanding cultural value, destroyed as a result of accidents or natural disasters. The participants of the summer school will analyse the role of written evidence, paintings, photographs, and personal knowledge of contemporaries as a basis for monument reconstruction.

 

The programme encompasses field trips to the Castle of Visegrád and the Hungarian Old Village of Hollókő and its Surroundings, the UNESCO World Heritage site.

 

5 young professionals from Poland will have the possibility to participate. The ICC covers the full cost of participation except for transportation to and from Krakow. The organizer of this year’sV4 Heritage Academy Management of UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites in Visegrad Countries summer school are the International Cultural Centre, Hungarian Ministry of Construction and Transport and Lechner Knowledge Center.
