Project: The Myth of Galicia

A story of Halychynan crown

What is the myth of Galicia? How does it function in collective awareness? How does its perception differ from one country to another? The exhibition prepared by the International Cultural Centre will present the evolution and influence of the myth from the perspective of three countries: Poland, Austria and Ukraine in the context of contemporary integration in Europe, borderline regions and the border between the EU and Eastern Europe.

In 17-22 February representatives of the ICC and Wien Museum held a meeting in Vienna in order to establish the final version of the script for the exhibition titled “The Myth of Galicia.”

However, already today we present one of the many stories that will be told in the exhibition – the story of the Halychynan crown.
