Professor Jacek Purchla awarded the St. Christopher Medal

On October 15, Professor Jacek Purchla was awarded the St. Christopher Medal for his long-standing and consistent support for the activities of the Krakow Museum. This prestigious award, which has been granted since 2011, is in recognition of individuals and institutions that support the Museum's activities substantively and financially, as well as those that help nurture Krakow's traditions.

Professor Jacek Purchla chaired the Museum Council for many years, offering his invaluable experience and knowledge. His support was crucial, among other things, in organizing the CAMOC 2021 annual conference, as well as in numerous consultations related to the Museum's activities. Thanks to his involvement, the Krakow Museum was able to develop its projects and effectively promote the city's cultural heritage internationally.

The decision to award the St. Christopher's Medal to Professor Jacek Purchla was made by the Medal Chapter consisting of: Aleksander Miszalski (Mayor of Krakow, Chancellor of the St. Christopher's Medal Chapter), Prof. Jacek Górski, Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Zamorski and Dr. Michał Niezabitowski (Director of the Krakow Museum).

The St. Christopher Medal is a symbolic expression of the gratitude of the Museum of Krakow to those who continually support its mission and contribute to nurturing and preserving Krakow's traditions for future generations.
