On April 3 and 4, Prof. Jacek Purchla took part in an international forum organized by the European Heritage Hub, Europa Nostra and the International Council for Local Environmental Europe (ICLEI).

The event, held in Montenegro, promotes good practices and innovative solutions in which cultural heritage is designed to be a catalyst for social change and support sustainable development.

European Heritage Hub [European Heritage Hub] was held for the third time. This year it was hosted by Budva, and the title of the meeting was: “EU Enlargement: Cultural Heritage as a Key Resource for Cities & Civil Society". The event focused on social transformation and the role of cultural heritage in social integration, bridging divides, educational development and economic growth. The conference showcased successful initiatives that use culture in greening and digitalization efforts, thereby facilitating sustainable development.

The European Heritage Hub project aims to improve green, social and digital transformation. Since 2023, it has also been operating in Krakow, Poland, as the first regional Europa Nostra center in Central and Eastern Europe. Under the leadership of this organization, it brings together partners and initiatives in the field of cultural heritage, coordinates their activities and helps them work together.

The International Cultural Centre has been an associate member of Europa Nostra almost since its inception. In 2013-2015, the ICC organized “Cultural Heritage Counts for Europe” in cooperation with it, and in 2019-2022 the ILUCIDARE project. Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, director of the ICC, sits on the Europa Nostra Council, while Prof. Jacek Purchla is vice-president of Europa Nostra, chairman of the international jury of the Europa Nostra European Heritage Award and heads the Krakow Heritage Hub team.
