On March 2, ICC director Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik and Karolina Wójcik, head of the Exhibition Department, received the Radio Krakow Brand Award for the exhibition “Brâncuși. Sculpting with Light”. During a gala ceremony at the Romana Bobrowska Studio, Krakow institutions that had particularly enriched the city's cultural and artistic landscape with their initiatives over the past year were honored.

The exhibition at the ICC Gallery was awarded the Radio Kraków Brand for its presentation of Constantin Brâncuși's photographs, which the jury appreciated for its original presentation of the Romanian artist's transformations and for emphasizing the relevance of his philosophy by juxtaposing his works with those of contemporary artists.

The jury noted that the exhibition “Brâncuși. Sculpting with Light” at the ICC is not a classic biographical story, but a journey through the artist's world – from his hometown of Hobița, through his Paris studio, to his monumental works in Târgu Jiu. The jury appreciated the way in which Brâncuși used light and photography as a fully-fledged artistic medium. The presentation of the Romanian artist's works in dialogue with contemporary artists was also considered valuable.

The Radio Kraków brand is an award granted by a jury consisting of journalists and reviewers from the most important Krakow media. This is yet another distinction for the International Cultural Centre for organizing important and valuable artistic and cultural initiatives.
