The premiere of the film "Orient and Krakow. Walks around multicultural Krakow ”directed by Tomasz Mielnik. The script was prepared by Adam Balcer in cooperation with Jarosław Kociszewski. The screening was preceded by a conversation between Łukasz Galusk and Adam Balcer, the initiator of the film and its narrator.

The knowledge of Krakow's fascinating connections with the Islamic world is either little known or has been forgotten. After all, Krakow first appeared in sources as Krako. The city developed at the intersection of the amber route running from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea and one of the roads of the silk route connecting Europe with Central Asia and China. Adam Balcer devoted his book published by the International Cultural Centre in 2018 to the known connections of our part of the continent with the Great Steppe and Turkey. The film complements it, showing a close-up of the city with the richest oriental heritage among all the cities in our country.

The film was made by the College of Eastern Europe Jana Nowak-Jeziorański in Wrocław, thanks to the financial support of the City of Kraków. The International Cultural Centre is a partner of the project.

The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Sport.
