(N)Ostalgic Sunday

July 22, 11 a.m.– 7 p.m.
(N)Ostalgic Sunday
The open day in the ICC Gallery

“Ostalgia” is a term which originated in German and is used to refer to a feeling of longing for certain aspects of everyday life under the German Democratic Republic. (N)ostalgic Sunday at the ICC will provide one with many opportunities to look back in time and reminisce. The workshop titled “Weaving together the strands of memories” will encourage everyone to share their stories of the GDR and People’s Republic of Poland.  While weaving straw doormats we will recall the visits paid to our neighbours and the absurdities of everyday life. Children will be invited to play without toys (we will prove it is possible to do so!), while in the meantime their parents will have an opportunity to watch a documentary by Andrzej Wolski titled “Toys”.
