Multi-sensory concert with audio description

We invite you to the “The Ravens” Hall in the International Culture Centre, where a special concert was held. Daria Barszczyk (vocal) and Jan Gembała (piano) took you into the world of Polish music hits.

 

The program included songs by Czesław Niemen, Andrzej Zaucha, Zbigniew Wodecki, Kora Jackowska, Myslovitz, Krzysztof Zalewski, and Mrozu. We heared unforgettable lyrics written by eg. Agnieszka Osiecka, Adam Nowak, Marek Dutkiewicz, and Wojciech Młynarski.

 

Music can be perceived by many senses. That is why, during the concert, there were provided services dedicated to meeting many people’s needs:

  •        live audio description;
  •        easy to-understand text – Regina Mynarska;
  •        subtitles for hard of hearing – Łukasz Podgórni;
  •        induction loop.

 

The concert venue was accessible for persons using wheelchairs.

Admission was free and did not require registration.

After the concert, the participants could visit the exhibition “Lithuania. Two Centuries of Photography”.

 

People with disabilities could use the service of the assistant during the whole event. It also included walking to the nearest public transport stop. The need for assistance wre to be reported by 19th September to the accessibility coordinator at ICC, Daniel Krawczyk:

Biographical notes:

 

Daria Barszczyk – vocalist, graduate of the Department of Vocal and Acting Studies at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Main prize laureate of the XVI Festiwal Zaczarowanej Piosenki in Krakow in 2021. Laureate of the Stowarzyszenie Artystów i Wykonawców Polskich “SAWP” prize at the 58th Opole Polish Song Festiwal, in the “Debute” category.

 

Jacek Gembala (J.Gem) – musician, pianist, independent creator, producer, composer, orchestrator, and DJ. Performing as a musician for 18 years. During this period, he gave hundreds of concerts in Poland and abroad. In 2016, together with the Jafia band, nominated for the Fryderyk Prize in the “Muzyka Korzeni” category. The artist also realizes sounding and composes for performances in Bajo Pomorskie, radio plays for children, movies, and advertisements.
