Marzena Daszewska new deputy director for program affairs at the ICC

The former head of the Publishing Department of the International Cultural Centre in Kraków becomes deputy director of Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik for program affairs at the ICC as of July 1. She will replace Dr. Łukasz Galusek, who took over as director of the Silesian Museum in Katowice.


Marzena Daszewska has been with the ICC since 2006, initially as an editor, and since 2018 as Head of the ICC Publishing House. She is a member of the Strategy and Development Team of the institution and Secretary of the International Cultural Centre Foundation (since 2021). The managing editor of the prestigious publishing series Library of Central Europe and Heritology, co-creator of the Ister series, she was honored with the badge “Meritorious for Polish Culture” in 2021.

The new deputy director for program affairs at the International Cultural Centre in Cracow is a graduate of the Institute of Archaeology at Jagiellonian University (2002), a translator, editor and cultural animator. In 2005-2006 she was editor-in-chief of Bezdroża Publishing House, specializing in publications on Central European topics.

Marzena Daszewska's interests revolve around the culture, history and art of Central Europe and their popularization in Poland. She is passionate about the cultural heritage of the continent – from antiquity to the present day – searching for bridges connecting diverse traditions and common values, key to building European identity and integration.
