Magic socialist realism - a joke or a hypothesis? After over fifty years, are we able to look at socialist realist heritage without emotions? Which projects have stood the test of time? We invite you to promotion of the latest issue of "Herito". The conversation will be attended by prof. Jacek Purchla, editor-in-chief of the quarterly and Anna Syska, researcher and promoter of 20th-century architecture. The discussion will be led by Łukasz Galusek.

In the new "Herito" we sketch a subjective atlas of socialist realist architecture in Central Europe, we recall the history of the construction of the famous Marshal's Housing District, we talk about the iconic realizations of one of the most mysterious figures of post-war architecture - Bohdan Pniewski. We also look at the first Polish socialist-realist building entered in the register of monuments, we wander to Kraków's Nowa Huta, Ostrava Poruba, Eisenhüttenstadt and Prievidzy, we look for forgotten socialist-realist monuments in the countries of former Yugoslavia. In addition, we take Soviet orientalism and rhetoric of socialist optimism to the workshop and, together with socialist realist artists, we contemplate the cosmos.
