As part of another virtual meeting from the At a distance series, the International Cultural Centre invited you to an interview with photographer Michał Korta.

Three years ago, the ICC Gallery presented his extraordinary tale of the Balkans in the photographic series Balkan Playground. This time Michał Korta talked about listening to nature, photographing at night, talking to people ... about trees, as well as about his two cycles The Shadow Line and Weeping willows.

The meeting, led by Monika Rydiger, took place on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 19.00. The conversation was broadcasted live on the ICC Facebook profile.

Michał Korta
- photographer (Academy of Fine Arts) and Germanist (Jagiellonian University), born and living in Bochnia. He specializes in portrait photography and long-term original projects. The winner, among others first place in the portrait category at BZ WBK Press Photo 2011 and first place in the portrait category at Grand Press Photo 2018 or first place in the Eisa Maestro Polska 2012 competition. His projects were shown in Poland, Israel, Italy, Spain and Great Britain, and they wrote about them Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, The Guardian, Financial Times, Wallpaper, Newsweek and The Boston Globe.

Monika Rydiger - art historian and critic. A graduate of the Jagiellonian University, doctor of humanities in the field of art history, curator at the Gallery of the International Cultural Centre. Author of texts on contemporary sculpture and architecture. Member of the Polish Section of the AICA (International Association of Art Critics) and vice president of the Krakow Branch of the Association of Art Historians. Curator and co-curator of exhibitions at the ICC gallery.


The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Sport.
