April 14th, 11 am

Contemporary Polish photography is a dynamically changing and fascinating phenomenon. Its boundaries are spread between different aesthetic tendencies, creative attitudes, and working methods. The April lecture focused on contemporary Polish photographers: Zuza Krajewska, Rafał Milach, Agnieszka Rayss, and Michał Szlaga.

The activity of modern photographers allows us not only to notice the multidimensionality of the medium itself but also to take a closer look at the contemporary image of Poland. The photographers show the country from the perspective of spatial transformations, social changes and tensions. They depict everyday life, which is full of contrasts, dreams, and problems of people living in cities, suburbs, and villages.

The lecture referred to the exhibition “Lithuania. Two Centuries of Photography”.

Venue: “The Ravens” hall, Rynek Główny 25

Attendance was free. The lecture was also be available online via the Zoom platform. To receive an online invitation, we asked the participants register via e-mail: warsztaty@mck.krakow.pl.

The lecture was a part of reoccurring series of meetings “Mature for art”.
