Lecture by Dr. Joanna Wolańska as part of the accompanying program of the exhibition The Armenian Cathedral in Lviv and its creators.

The work of Jan Henryk Rosen – the polychrome in the Armenian cathedral in Lviv – is one of the most important examples of Polish sacred painting of the interwar period, which has not yet been presented in greater detail. The uniqueness of the polychrome is evidenced by the form in which the artist combines elements of modernism and Byzantine art, and the iconographic program. In addition to Rosen's work and the problems of its conservation, the exhibition presents the works that Franciszek Mączyński and Józef Mehoffer made for the cathedral.
