Throughout the 19th century, industrialization and numerous technical inventions profoundly transformed production methods and trade. The space of cities was also transformed, filled not only by newly built factory complexes, but also by numerous department stores and railway stations. A sign of these changes was also the flourishing of street advertising, including posters.

As part of activities resembling the exhibition "Alfons Mucha. "Posters from Lviv collections", Dr. Małgorzata Jędrzejczyk will discuss the poster phenomenon in terms of the transformations that took place in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The growing scale, new creation techniques, changing materials and content, as well as the evolution of the poster from simple posters to large-scale compositions will be analyzed.

The meeting will be transmitted online via the Zoom platform. Admission free. To receive an access link, please register at warsztaty@mck.krakow.pl
