Lecture by Prof. Jacek Purchla during the Cultural Mega-Events and Urban Heritage seminar

17 April 2019 at the Polytechnic University in Milan Prof. Jacek Purchla gave a lecture on The Politics of Heritage and the Urban Economy of Mega-Events: Krakow 2000 and Wroclaw 2016. Two European Capitals of Culture contrasted. The lecture was part of the series of seminars titled Cultural Mega-Events and Urban Heritage ... conducted as part of the international HOMEE project.

The purpose of the several-year program is to examine the impact of major cultural events on various aspects of urban life, and the series of seminars itself provides an opportunity for lively discussions between specialists, researchers and city decision-makers.

Lecture by Prof. Jacek Purchla will focus on the changes brought by the awarding of the title of the European Capital of Culture to two Polish cities: Kraków and Wrocław.
