The lecture was devoted to the Romani women artists. The work of as Mihaela Drăgan, Ana Maria Gheorghe, Kiba Lumberg, Delaine Le Bas, Emilia Rigova, Selma Selma was discussed.

Discrimination and unequal treatment based on gender or background are still noticeable in many areas of social, professional, and political life. At the same time, these topics permeate contemporary artistic practice, resonating in various areas of culture: visual arts, theatre, film, and literature. These issues are also present in the practice of women Roma artists, who have often experienced double discrimination – both due to the fact of being a woman, also a woman-artist, and a person belonging to an ethnic minority.

The lecture accompanied the exhibition Travelling images. Małgorzata Mirga-Tas.

Venue: “The Ravens” hall, Rynek Główny 25

The entry was free. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom platform. In order to receive the virtual invitation, we asked the participants to send a message to: warsztaty@mck.krakow.pl
