First online collection dedicated to Krakow at Google Arts & Culture

Google Arts & Culture together with the International Cultural Centre and 12 other Krakow institutions launched the first, Polish online collection dedicated exclusively to the city. The project is entitled Krakow-wow”. More than 50 exhibitions were created, 5 of them by the ICC.

 

The ICC prepared the story of Lajkonik as well as the legend about the St Mary’s trumpet call. At the institution’s profile you can find also the history of the Krakow houses located at the Main Square and descriptions of the works of Igor Mitoraj and Edward Dwurnik. We encourage you to read and watch the stories.

The “Kraków-wow” project – except from exhibitions – encompasses 2 thousand digitalised artworks, virtual tours to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, Czartoryski Museum, royal chambers in Wawel, and the Dragon’s Den. It presents also the most interesting festivals, traditions, myths and legends, as well as portraits of Krakow artists,.

 

Apart from the ICC the following institutions were involved: National Museum in Krakow, Wawel Royal Castle, Cracovia Danza Ballet, Cricoteka – the Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor, KBF – Krakow Festival Office, Cracow Saltworks Museum in Wieliczka, Nowa Huta Cultural Centre, The Ethnographic Museum of Kraków, Małopolska Institute of Culture in Kraków, ICE Kraków Congress Centre, The Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow and Bunkier Sztuki Art Gallery.
