Expert guided tour with the art critic, Magdalena Ujma

We invited the visitors to join us for an expert guided tour of the exhibition "Travelling Images. Małgorzata Mirga-Tas”. During an hour-long tour, our expert talked about the significance of the artist's original techniques and materials. She located them in the context of herstory, i.e. a story that includes women. Another important topic of the guided tour was the prevalence of identity-centred topics in contemporary art and the related problem of its valuation.

Magdalena Ujma – art critic and historian, writer and curator of contemporary art exhibitions. Since 2018, she’s worked at the Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor CRICOTEKA, where she is the curator of the collection. Since 2021, she’s worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, as the managing editor of "Restart" and "Elementy" magazines and as a lecturer. She is the president of the Polish Section of the International Association of Art Critics AICA. One of the founders of the Feminist Seminar. She lives in Krakow.
