From May 7th to August 14th, 2021, the Plants and animals. Atlases of natural history in the age of Linnaeus exhibition prepared by the International Cultural Centre will be presented in the historic interiors of the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów.

After an extremely warm reception by the public and critics, and the attendance success despite pandemic restrictions, proclaimed "one of the most beautiful exhibitions of 2020", the exhibition has been re-presented. Graphically outstanding ornithological and botanical albums have been used to create a remarkable, multi-layered story.

Visitors who are already familiar with the exhibition will surely be surprised by the non-obvious transposition of its original layout. In the new arrangement, works of art establish a dialogue with the architecture of the palace interiors. An additional link with the new place is the functional ceramics from the Wilanów collection presented at the exhibition, including a dessert service decorated with botanical motifs, inspired by the famous Copenhagen tableware – Flora Danica, as well as the sophisticated plant creations of Johann Joachim Kändler, a virtuoso of Meissen porcelain.

The narrative structure of the exhibition presenting the collections of the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow has been extended in the second edition to include objects belonging to the National Library in Warsaw, as well as graphics from the private collection of the author of the exhibition concept, Krzysztof Radoszek.
