The lecture will be devoted to the Paris artistic environment from the second half of 19th century. It refers to the exhibiitonMasters of Dreams. Symbolism in the Bohemian Lands 1880–1914”, presented at the ICC Gallery in 2014.

France and Belgium became at the end of the 19th century the cradles of Symbolism, a lot of artistic movements clashed there. The academic art – officially exhibited – was juxtaposed with works that foreshadowed artistic modernity and a new painterly language. Paris as the unquestionable capital of art was for many artists a dream life space.

The lecture takes place online via Zoom. Participation in the lecture is free of charge. To receive a link to participate, please send an e-mail to the following address: warsztaty@mck.krakow.pl.
